This came about when I was offered the remains of a teak coffee table. Most of the wood had been ruined by prolonged exposure to moisture but three of the legs were still good so I started to formulate some designs.
These lamps contrast the soft colour and texture of wood with the harder qualities of metal. A collection of salvaged sprockets were blast cleaned and burnished before assembling each one in its own unique sequence. Brass fixtures complete the designs.
Two from the pictured group were featured during the ‘Outside the Box’ exhibition at the Forum, Norwich.
