Virtually used to destruction this Victorian low back sofa was in need of some serious repair. After the top layer of fabric and stuffing was removed the extent of the damage was revealed and a full restoration was required.
The wooden frame was in relatively good order with only a few small repairs needed. New webbing, springs and layers of traditional stuffing were added to the base and back. Finally a top cover of scarlet red velvet was fitted.
This was an intensive project, but knowing this sofa will last a considerable number of years into the future is very satisfying. Photos show before and after.
